Today is Sajid Nadiadwala's birthday, and he is the head honcho of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. Sajid is recognised for producing blockbusters like as Kick, Mujhse Shaadi Karoge, Baaghi 3 and others. While he's well-known for his high-profile projects and posh automobile collection, he made headlines last year for a very different reason. Sajid was in the news after the death of his ex-wife, late actress Divya Bharti's father, Om Prakash Bharti, for the closeness he shared with him.
Divya Bharti, who made her acting debut in Govinda's Shola Aur Shabnam, married producer Sajid Nadiadwala when she was only 18 years old. The teenage starlet had married Sajid against her father Om Prakash Bharti's wishes and kept the marriage a secret for months. Sajid and Divya told her father months after their marriage was solemnised, according to her mother Meeta in an old interview. On Diwali, the 83 filmmaker announced their marriage to his bride, who was still living with her parents.
Unfortunately, the couple could not spend the rest of their life together because Divya Bharti died barely 10 months after their wedding. After falling from her home's balcony, the actress died. Her sad death stunned the entire country. Sajid stayed by her parents at this terrible period and adopted them as his own. He nicknamed Divya's parents mom and dad since they were so close to him.
Sajid's second wife Warda and their children have a good relationship with Divya's family as well. Even celebrations brought them together. Warda told Bollywood Hungama in 2020,"Sajid is so close, Sajid is like a son to dad, after mumma (Divya’s mother) passed away. You can’t even imagine how close dad and Sajid are. And Kunal and Sajid... they talk just like brothers would."
Om Prakash Bharti, Divya's father, died away in October of last year. When he breathed his last, Sajid was by his side. Sajid fulfilled all of the responsibilities of a son, according to a storey from the same outlet "took care of their every need." According to reports, he also performed Divya's father's funeral rites.
